Truly Tyler by Terri Libenson

This is my new favorite book. It’s better than you expect. Tyler is trying to figure out how to be and athlete and an artist at the same time, while Emmie’s trying to figure out how to seem cool enough that Tyler’s friends won’t make fun of her and Tyler when they hang out. This book is from the Emmie and friends series (Reviews on those books later!). The way these books work are the main character will have their own chapters, and the other character will show up in a short comic after every chapter. Sometimes the character interact with each other, sometimes they live totally separate lives. I think in this book, Tyler’s friends should lay off a little. They’re always making fun of Tyler, because he hangs out with Emmie. They think they’re just making funny jokes, but you should be careful about those kinds of things. Emmie’s friends, on the other hand, I feel are supportive enough. 5/5 on The Marianarchy Scale!
