Chapter 4
Crazy Town
Dear Manhattan Middle School students,
We are sorry to inform you that orientation day has been canceled.
I, Principal Cartwell, have become ill and cannot lead the assembly.
Vice Principal Daff is out of town.
For the rest of the week school will be canceled until further notice, not just orientation day.
On behalf of all Manhattan Middle School teachers, we are sorry for the inconvenience.
But, we have learned how to assign online work.
Please download the Manhattan Middle School app.
We will be assigning homework, nothing else.
Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Principal Cartwell
“Yes!” shouted Isabella and Charlotte.
“This is so weird! No school!” exclaimed Charlotte “I wonder what it’s going to be like, having school online.”
“Yeah,” said Isabella “I mean, I’ve done reports online, but the whole school online? At least it’s only homework.”
“Isabella!” yelled Charlotte. “All work is homework if we’re doing it all at home!” Isabella started to faint, but then their butler, Mathew, who had been on break all morning, swooped in just in time to catch Isabella and to direct the girls to the limo. When they got home Charlotte went to her desk, and Mathew carried Isabella to her bed.
